Application: A versatile building block and synthesis reagent. Ethyl 4-bromobutyrate is used as a building block for the preparation of firefly luciferase inhibitor-conjucated peptide derivatives. It finds application in the synthesis of poly(2,6,-dimethyl-1,4-phehylene oxide) and thieno(2,3-b)-azepin-4-ones.
