Application:Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether is used as a solvent in organic reactions due to its stability towards higher pH and its high boiling point. It is particularly involved in reactions utilizing organometallic reagents such as Grignard reactions and metal hydride reductions. It is also a solvent for hydroboration reactions with diborane.
